Dr. Julija Zarkova Atanasova is a distinguished dental professional with extensive expertise in prosthodontics. She obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Faculty of Dentistry in Skopje, North Macedonia, in 2008. In 2015, she earned a Master of Dental Sciences degree in prosthodontics, further solidifying her expertise in the field. Her commitment to professional growth led her to achieve the title of Prosthodontist in 2019.
Dr. Atanasova’s dedication to research and innovation culminated in the successful defense of her Ph.D. thesis, “The Impact of Thickness in Monolithic Lithium-Disilicate Ceramics on Color and Esthetics of Prosthetic Restorations In Vitro – Evaluation.” As a result, she was awarded the title of Doctor of Dental Sciences.
Currently, she serves as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medical Sciences at Goce Delčev University in Štip, North Macedonia. Alongside her academic career, she maintains an active clinical practice at Dentimax, a private dental office in Skopje. She has authored numerous research papers and teaching materials and is a sought-after speaker at conferences, congresses, and symposiums.

Case Descriptions:
A 32-year-old female patient visited our office with aesthetic concerns about her upper teeth. She had undergone orthodontic treatment eight years ago but did not wish to wear braces or aligners again. Instead, she sought a long-lasting solution to enhance her smile.
Upon examination, all her incisors were covered with old, discolored composite restorations with poor gingival margins. She currently wears a retainer for her lower jaw but not for the upper. Additionally, her left lateral incisor exhibited a crossbite.
After a thorough assessment and consultation, we developed a treatment plan involving five Emax veneers and one crown to achieve a more harmonious, bright, and natural-looking smile.
The treatment began with in-office dental bleaching to establish an optimal base shade. We then performed a preoperative digital scan, followed by tooth preparation and a second scan for the final restorations.
