Case Descriptions:
A 66-year-old female patient presented with concerns about her teeth, smile, and functionality. She had a previously fractured bridge in the upper left quadrant and was missing the upper right lateral crown. Additionally, she had an implant-supported bridge on the upper left central incisor, lateral incisor, and canine, which exhibited multiple aesthetic issues, including problems with shape, shade, and the presence of black triangles. The implants had been placed by a dentist overseas about nine years ago, with no available information regarding the implant brand.
The patient expressed a desire to restore her ability to eat and chew properly and to achieve a natural, aesthetically pleasing smile. The treatment plan involved removing her old crowns and bridges and replacing them with new ones. A significant challenge was obtaining accurate impressions of the implant abutments without having any implant accessories (such as scan bodies, analogs, or transfers). The restorative treatment was completed using a fully digital workflow, incorporating clear aligners, guided crown lengthening, and fixed prostheses.
The entire digital treatment plan was approved by the patient before beginning the procedures. The final outcome matched the proposed plan, and the patient was very satisfied with the results, enjoying both improved function and aesthetics.
